Middle Game Ranking
01/05/2006
This ranking is based on nothing but margins of victory.
The concept is to find the game or the average of the
two middle games so that half of the games they have
played were better and half the games were worse. The
idea is find the team's typical game. Thus it is similar
to the retrodictive concept. If bowl teams were chosen by
scoring strength, these are the ratings I would use. If
they were chosen by whom they beat and whom they lost to,
I would use the Retrodictive. Think about #1 playing #2,
#3 playing #4, etc. Sounds good to me.
Now repeat after me: A bowl is just another game ... I
must remember that there were many other games ...
Oh, why couldn't my Longhorns come in first on all three
of my systems? The answer is: Because those Trojans are
going to continue to be there next year. Look at the
lead the top two teams have on number three.
